New to Lacrosse

WELCOME!

We are so glad you're here learning about lacrosse! We love our sport and want to share it with many more youth athletes in our area.  We are ready to teach and welcome you into Forest Lake LAX!

Let us know what questions you have; we're looking forward to meeting you!

BUT I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT LACROSSE...

Lacrosse is a fun and exciting sport! Like all sports, it has rules to follow and skills to learn,  but you don't need to know how to play to join us. We will teach you everything you need to know from how to hold the stick to positions and scoring. Don't let being new stop you from coming out to give this awesome sport a try!   There is more info and some introduction videos on this page

WHAT DO I NEED?

Equipment is determined by USA Lacrosse and is different between the boys and girls.  Just trying it out?  That's great! Reach out to us to see about borrowing equipment for "Try Lacrosse" practice days until you get your own for the season.

All of the equipment information you need is here. Let us know if you have any questions!

WHAT'S THE TIME COMMITMENT?

Spring lacrosse is generally April to early June. During that part of the season, players practice 2-3 evenings per week at Fenway Fields. Games are double-headers on one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).

Summer lacrosse is generally mid June to early August. Summer season has players practicing 1-3 times during the week with games on weekday evenings. Most weekends are free during the summer. The exceptions to this are tournaments which take place on Saturday & Sunday in the summer. Each team generally does 1-2 summer tournaments.
